It’s so hard to say goodbye

Grief & Loss Counseling

Death and dying are two of the most challenging aspects to life. They're not things that we like to give too much attention to until we're forced to face them, either expectedly or unexpectedly. Unfortunately, some of us come upon the conversation of death sooner than we are prepared to deal with and that experience has a tremendous amount of power to shift what we know about life and living.

I began my career as a counselor working in Cancer care helping individuals come to terms with significant diagnoses, the changing family dynamics that can ensue, and the tremendous amount of uncertainty that often accompanies the word "Cancer". My clients and I often talked about what was meaningful in life, what they would do differently, and what they would change given the chance. We talked about favorite memories, strategies to keep them as healthy as possible, and we meditated.

When I sat with their families after their passing, we often talked about similar things: favorite memories, things they wish they could have said, and what's important in their lives now. It's a tremendous process to be a part of and that's why I've continued to serve as a guide to those dealing with any part of the death and dying process.

Since then I've supported individuals and their families through terminal illnesses, the unexpected loss of  partners, the unexpected loss of children and other significant losses. If you're looking for support on your journey through a very tricky time in your life, I'll be the one to help you get to the other side.

If you're looking for a personable, warm and engaging anxiety therapist in the Central Park area of Denver, please reach out to me. I would love to be your teammate to help you navigate the tricky steps ahead.
