Everything You'll Need To Know For Saturday's Free Acupuncture
I want to first thank you all for volunteering for this event. It's a testament to the kindness of you as a member of this community; it is also a distinct pleasure to meet a bunch of people I may have otherwise never met. Thank you for spending some of your Saturday with me.
In order to be respectful of you and your time, I wanted to outline what our time together will be like and to give you all of the pertinent details for the day.
First, the global specifics:
Where: Sam Gary Library Branch right here in Stapleton. When you enter the library, take a left and go back toward the quiet area. We will be in one of the large quiet rooms in the back.
When: Everyone has signed up for a time slot. Exactness isn't required because I will be working with multiple people at once. That said, in order to be most respectful of the calming environment, please arrive close to your designated time. As you arrive, I'll ask you to sign the consent waiver before we begin.
What: You will be receiving auricular (ear) acupuncture in the form of the NADA protocol. It involves five (5) specific points in each ear. You might feel a pinch or some pressure upon the initial insertion but it goes away very quickly. After that, we'll relax in our quiet space together and I will check on you throughout that process. I would recommend you silence your cell phones and chose to read or meditate instead. You'll have the most relaxing experience that way. Sometimes, people nod off and that's okay, too.
I'll be asking you a few questions before we begin (aside from getting to know you a little bit):
- Have you had something to eat today? (Should be "Yes")
- Have you gone to the restroom? (Should be "Yes")
- Do you feel otherwise okay?
- Do you have any questions for me?
I want to make sure you are as comfortable during this process as is possible. We will be sitting together for approximately 30 minutes and if you'd like to stay a few minutes longer, I've budgeted in some time for that.
The environment is informal so please come dressed comfortably. For those of you with longer hair, I will have some hair ties and clips available because I will need access to your ears. If you would prefer to wear your hair "up" or in a hat, that's totally fine, too.
Again, I'm really looking forward to meeting you all. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me; I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
All My Best,
